Emmerdale’s Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson) was recently told by Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) that his uncle Amit Sharma was his biological father, which led to the pair falling out with one another.
Rishi’s death came before Jai could make amends with him and he wasn’t there to see his son walk down the aisle.
The aftermath of the tragedy continues next week as Jai begins to snap at his family, letting his emotions get the better of him.
In scenes set to air tomorrow night, Jai and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) are emotional as they tell the kids about Rishi.
Jai struggles with Rishi’s death and snaps at Archie Breckle (Kai Assi) while Laurel feels for a broken Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), who feels guilty for leaving Rishi alone.
After calming down and coming to terms with speaking to his family about Rishi, Jai tells Suni that he doesn’t care about the adoption and that he was his real dad.
Later, an emotional Jai finally begins to process Rishi’s death as he and Archie light candles around a picture of him.
Downbeat, Jai decides that for the sake of the family and their memory of Rishi to keep the truth about his identity between him and Laurel.
Soon, Suni’s perplexed when a stressed Jai snaps at him when he pleads with him to ring Amit about the funeral arrangements.
Jai struggles when Tom King (Ken Farrington) arrives and hands them a USB full of Rishi’s photos.
The family gather around as they look over Rishi’s digitised photos, remembering Rishi and his legacy together.
Will Suni start to work out the truth?
How will he feel about Jai being his biological brother?
The pair are incredibly close, but will this bring them closer together or push them further apart?
After the scenes aired, Rishi actor Bhasker Patel spoke about leaving the show: “Thanks for watching Rishi over the years.
“I feel privileged to have been part of the show for 12 years. I have loved it and will miss it enormously, especially my friends and working in the beautiful village of Emmerdale.
“Thank you for watching. Stay safe Bhasker.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV.
