After the Nuggets defeated the Heat on Monday night to capture their first NBA championship, Magic Johnson hopped on social media to congratulate the franchise.
“Congratulations to Denver Nuggets President Tim Connelly, GM & former player Calvin Booth, and Coach Mike Malone and his entire staff,” Johnson tweeted. “They did an excellent job coaching every series of the Playoffs!”
There’s one major problem with Johnson’s tweet. Tim Connelly is no longer affiliated with the Nuggets.
In May of 2022, Connelly left the Nuggets to become the president of basketball operations for the Timberwolves.
With that said, Johnson is getting trolled on Twitter for this mistake.

“Tim Connelly works for the Wolves now… Magic needs to hire a better intern,” one fan replied.

Another fan wrote, “Magic is a little behind the times on where Tim Connelly works.”

“Still my basketball hero,” a third fan commented. “Still bad at Twitter.”

This tweet from Johnson has already been up for more than 12 hours, so it’s unlikely he edits it.
Nonetheless, it’s pretty cool Johnson gave the Nuggets the credit they deserved during this entire playoff run.
