Float away and rent as you choose with Click&Boat

If the wonders of the wide blue sea float your boat, then a rental platform that lets you get out on the open water for just a day or weeks on end may be just the thing for you. Click&Boat has some 50,000 vessels in 4,000 destinations ready to lift anchor in more than 150 countries, with customers deciding where they want to go, what craft they prefer and whether or not they want a skipper.

Families, groups of friends, couples and business retreats are all catered for, allowing customers to sign up for regattas, celebrate a birthday in style, snorkel to their heart’s content, explore remote coves, and discover local cuisine onboard.

Most booked destinations for UK travellers in 2022 included Ibiza, Cannes, Dubrovnik and Athens, with catamarans, gulets, and yachts the top choices for clients.

Demand was stronger than ever last year and 2023 trends are showing UK customers’ favourite destination to be the Ionian Islands.

Another important offering addressing climate concerns is the platform’s choice of Electric Boats in various destinations, including an electric catamaran in Olbia, Italy, an electric motorboat and electric trimaran in Hyères, in southern France; and an electric sailboat and two electric catamarans in Ibiza, Spain.

The availability of electric boats is expected to increase this year and going forward as manufacturers expand the supply of sustainable models.

Chartering a boat or offering one for charter – how it works

To offer a boat for charter: private and professional owners create a Click&Boat account free of charge (this includes their profile and sailing CV). Once complete, the details go live, allowing them to manage bookings and, after confirming, connect with renters.

After the charter period, owners can rate renters on multiple aspects, including sailing skills, responsibility, and character; enabling them to build an informative profile. A dedicated Click&Boat Account Management Team works with all owners listed on the platform to make sure everything is run correctly and that the fleet is 100 per cent secure.

To charter a boat: using the self-explanatory search engine, users pick a place of departure, start/end date, and boat type etc., renters can find the best boat for them quickly, and then contact the owner in writing (via the internal messaging service) asking questions and requesting to book.

Once the owner accepts the request, users can book their charter by authorising the online payment, before coordinating the final details such as the timing and location of handing over the keys. Like owners, those chartering the boat can review their experience to help others prepare for future trips. A dedicated internal advisory service is available throughout this process.

Guests can hire motorboats and rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) from £150, and Catamarans and Sailboats from £990. One of the biggest, a catamaran, can sleep up to 16 people.

Examples of trips include:

Seven nights on a LAGOON 40 (2019) catamaran in Ibiza with skipper, sleeps 12 people, four cabins, 10 berths, two bathrooms from 01 July 2023 is £8,749, £874.90pp, £124.98 pp per night.

Seven nights on a JEANNEAU — SUN ODYSSEY 37 (2001) in Volos, Greece with skipper, sleeps four people, three cabins, six berths, one bathroom from 15 July 2023 is £2,810, £468.33pp, 366.90pp per night.

Sales executive Caitlin Goodman says: “Click&Boat was created to make boating as accessible as possible and guests can say yes to a skipper for that added, and invaluable, insider knowledge.”
