DOHA, 14th December 2022 (WAM)– France qualified to the Qatar 2022’s final for second straight time after narrowly defeating Morocco 2-0.
The heavily Pride of Africa–supporting crowd at Al Bayt Stadium was silenced by France only five minutes after the starting whistle.
France continued to assault throughout the remainder of the half with Olivier Giroud missing two great chances.
Morocco started the second half with some scoring chances in front of the French goal. The pride of Africa played with renewed energy and enthusiasm and managed to keep the reigning champions on the defensive but they still could not find a way to score before sustaining the second goal following amazing dribbling by Kylian Mbappé that led the ball to Randal Kolo Muani who calmly kicked it in to give France a 2-0 lead.
Now Lusail Stadium will on Sunday host the Messi-Mbappe battle after the Atlas Lions were narrowly defeated by the defending champions.
