After being waived by the Orlando Magic earlier this offseason, Bol Bol could be on his way to a new team.

A frontrunner has emerged to sign the former Oregon Duck, and it’s a team that expects to have a lot of success this season.

According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Phoenix Suns are currently in talks to sign Bol.

On paper, the fit makes a lot of sense. The Suns are paying three players a lot of money in Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

Bol would be a relatively inexpensive option for the Suns, who are looking for cheap depth to fill out their top-heavy roster.

As a versatile big man, Bol could also be the replacement for Deandre Ayton if the Suns eventually move on from the former No. 1 overall pick.

Bol saw the most playing time of his career last season with the Magic, appearing in 70 games and making 33 starts. He averaged 9.1 points per game and 5.8 rebounds in just under 22 minutes per game.

It’s been a bit of a rocky road for Bol in the early part of his career, but he has the chance to find a home and make an impact with the Suns.
