Historic day for Carlos Sainz this Saturday, after having achieved the first pole of his Formula 1 career at Silverstone. In a classification that went through water, where precisely the driving becomes more relevant and the engines somewhat less, the Madrid native surprise by setting the fastest time on the slippery British tarmac. Sainz took first place on the starting grid when the Dutchman Max Verstappen was already with her, being the third position for his Ferrari teammate, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc.

It was not all bad for Fernando Alonso, who this Sunday will start from seventh position in a season in which his Alpine does not finish responding in the way he expected. I had a lot of problems with the water on the track, but in the end I was able to do a good lap and pole position caught me by surprise”, confessed the man from Madrid, eager to ratify an unforgettable weekend, also making his debut this Sunday with his first victory in race.
