Howard Donald has shared his nerves on Instagram following his performance at BST Hyde Park Festival 2023, which comes as the band performed their first “proper gig” in four years.
The Take That singer was recently axed from Nottingham Pride after it was discovered he had liked bigoted tweets against the LGBTQIA community.
On Instagram, he shared a slide of images from the concert in view of his 133,000 followers and typed: “Oh..hello there!
“Still coming down from the gig @bsthydepark on Saturday night.
“Have to admit after 4 years since the last gig, when I came up at the beginning my legs were v shaky after looking out at the 70.000 crowd, I’m only human after all!
“Hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and we cannot tell you how much we appreciate your support after 30+ years.”(sic).
Howard added: “You are ze best! Next stop Denmark, then album and a tour next year.
“Also Thank you to @thescriptofficial @sugababes and @willyoungofficial. Lots of love to all. Xx.”(sic)
Howard, 55, took to the stage with his bandmates Gary Barlow, 52, and Mark Owen, 51, as they headlined the event in the UK capital, on the same day as Pride in London was happening in the city.
He looked stylish in an orange suit for his performance, with the star wearing a white T-shirt under his jacket.
He added a pair of matching trousers with wide flares, as well as a comfortable pair of white trainers.
Pop star Howard was seen standing alongside Gary on stage, who wore an all-white outfit.
He wore a pristine white jacket which he teamed with a matching top and a pair of trousers in the same colour.
Meanwhile, Mark wore a fur coat which he teamed with a light blue shirt.
It comes after Howard said he was “disappointed” in himself in a grovelling apology after liking the transphobic and homophobic tweets.
The musician was set to headline the LGBTIQA Festival, Groovebox, this month, alongside the likes of Horse Meat Disco, Essel and Sam Sax.
Howard’s performance at the event was condemned by fans who noticed his recent online activity – his Twitter account has since been deleted following the backlash.
Announcing the news in a statement, Nottingham Pride bosses said: “In light of recent events, Howard Donald will no longer be playing at our Nottingham Pride Festival on Saturday 29th July at Binks Yard.”
