Following an excellent 4-run 19th over from Cameron Green, Tendulkar started off the final over with a dot ball. He bowled another wide yorker as Abdul Samdul ran himself out while trying to steal a double. He then bowled a wide before Mayank Markande managed a double on the third.

A leg bye on the fourth delivery before an outside edge off Bhuvneshwar Kumar landed into the hands of Rohit Sharma at extra cover. The final wicket kicked off two celebrations in the Mumbai camp.

The first was obviously five-time champions jumping to the fifth spot in the 10-team table with their third consecutive win. The other was for 23-year-old Tendulkar junior showing great composure and picking his maiden IPL wicket under immense pressure.

The fact that Tendulkar delivered only in his second match and fifth over overall of the IPL, has left the likes of Virender Sehwag, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bishop and other legends of the game utterly impressed. Here is how they have reacted.

“So happy to see Arjun doing well. @sachin_rt paaji must be a proud father. Arjun’s hard work paying off and my blessings that this is only the beginning of great things to come. Well done Arjun! #SRHvsMI,” tweeted Virender Sehwag.

“Young Man, WELL DONE,” lauded England legend Kevin Pietersen.

Rohit also praised Arjun Tendulkar during the post-match presentation ceremony. The captain himself needs to be applauded for asking Tendulkar to open the bowling for the team and then bowl the very crucial final over.

“Arjun has been a part of this team for three years. He understands what he wants to do. He is quite confident as well. He is clear in his plans. He is trying to swing the new ball and bowl yorkers at the death,” Rohit said.
