Jackfruit recipe: Give street food cravings a healthy twist with Katahal Chaat

There is nothing that comes close to matching the joy of Indian street food but while we binge on it this workday, make sure to tick nutrition and keep the body health in check too so, we are giving our street food cravings a healthy twist with Jackfruit or Katahal Chaat this Tuesday. People who love to eat are always the best people and if you are like us, who prefer experimenting with new ingredients in old cuisines, let us introduce you to Jackfruit Chaat.

Move over regular chaat and since there is nothing more romantic than delicious food, treat your loved ones to a lip-smacking platter of healthy Jackfruit Chaat with the recipe given below and brush aside Tuesday blues.

Ingredients:

2kg jackfruit

30 gm ginger garlic paste

20 gm green chili paste

10 gm turmeric

1 kg broken wheat

1 tbsp red chilli powder

100 gm potli ka masala

500 ml ghee

1 mint bunch

50 gm brown onion

100 gm whole cashew

250 gm curd

Salt, as per taste

Method:

Marinate the jackfruit with ginger garlic paste, haldi and green chilli paste and cook. Boil it and take the shreds of jackfruit out of it. Cook broken wheat with green chili and kebab chini and make a paste.

To a vessel, add ghee, ginger garlic paste, and green chili paste and saute. Add shredded jackfruit to it, along with chili and turmeric powder. Once the above is done, add curd and cook it till the oil seeps out. After that, add the broke wheat paste.

Allow it to cook until it reaches a consistency that doesn’t stick to the ladle. Garnish with fried onions, cashew nuts, lemon wedges and fresh coriander. Serve hot.
