Sen, the Canada Open champion, will face another Japanese Koki Watanabe in the quarterfinals, while Prannoy will face the winner of the pre-quarterfinal between top seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark and Indonesia’s Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo in the last eight.
Apart from Srikanth, the women’s doubles pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayathri Gopichand also bowed out in the second round of the BWF Super 750 tournament. The Indian pair suffered straight games loss to Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida of Japan by scoreline of 21-23, 19-21.
