Japan fans have collected garbage after their side’s win over Germany- days after tidying up another stadium.

Supporters in football shirts were seen armed with bottles and blue waste bags as they tidied up the stadium.

Another fan with what appeared to be blue hair, a nod of support to his country, lent down as he placed bottles and other waste in a plastic bag.

The supporters stayed behind at the venue after the match, which saw their team triumph 2-1 over Germany.

They were seen doing the gesture of respect and goodwill in the empty stadium.

All of the fans clutched numerous bags to collect the rubbish and weaved through each row to make sure the stadium was tidy.

Another image showed security officials standing next to the supporters as they tidied up, with many of them appearing to smile.

Footage also showed supporters waving and smiling as they cleaned up.

The supporters have garnered praise online for their actions, with one person tweeting: ‘2022: For the first time Japan defeated Germany in Group stage opener after being 1-0 down.

‘Also Japanese culture of cleaning and respecting people is really awesome. Long live Asian football.’

Another person wrote: ‘Japan’s fans are truly the best. They beat Germany in a famous win, but before celebrating stuck around at the Khalifa International Stadium to help clean up.’

Elsewhere, a different person wrote: ‘Japan has by far one of the best cultures I’ve seen and their people truly carry it with them wherever they go.

‘It’s a big thing what they do by cleaning up the stadiums before they leave. I’ve never seen anybody as a collection do that. In America, it’s always filthy after games.’

Other people joked that after the win in the match, Japan had ‘cleaned up’ against Germany.

It comes days after the supporters cleared up rubbish at a game they were not even involved in.

At the tournament’s opening fixture between the host nation and Ecuador on Sunday, fans dressed in their national colours stayed behind to pick up bottles and food wrapping left in the stands.

The country has gained a reputation for similar goodwill at previous international tournaments and their admirable behaviour is already winning plaudits in the Middle East.

Footage shows them going row by row picking up the rubbish and placing it into plastic bags.

The video was taken by influencer Omar Al-Farooq from Bahrain who shared it on Instagram.

In it, he is heard asking: ‘Why are you doing this?’

A Japanese fan replies: ‘We are Japanese, and we do not leave rubbish behind us, and we respect the place.’

The supporters also picked up flags which had been thrown by the Qatari and Ecuadorian fans, saying the symbols ‘command respect’.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Japan fans garnered similar affection for their neighbourly behaviour.

Even after suffering a heartbreaking last-gasp winner in a 3-2 knockout loss to Belgium, the ‘Samurai Blue’ supporters sifted through the aisles of the Rostov Arena to pick up discarded litter.

Supporters were seen crying as they hauled enormous rubbish bags around the stadium.

Pictures from the stadium show fans in fancy dress and their national team’s kit picking up rubbish after most of the other fans had cleared out.
