Jeremy Clarkson’s lack of farming knowledge branded ‘dangerous’

The first series Clarkson’s Farm was a massive hit on Amazon Prime Video and Jeremy Clarkson fans are looking forward to the documentary series returning for its second outing. Jeremy bought Diddly Squat Farm in 2008 but he decided to farm it himself when “a chap in the village” who ran it retired in 2019. However, Jeremy’s co-star Kaleb Cooper, who is a farming contractor, revealed the 62-year-old presenter still has a lot to learn about the industry.

Kaleb appeared on Wednesday’s episode of This Morning to discuss Clarkson’s Farm and his experience of working alongside Jeremy.

Filming has now wrapped for season two of the show and presenter Holly Willoughby was keen to know if Jeremy’s instinct towards farming has improved over the past year.

Kaleb hesitated then frankly replied to ITV viewers at home: “Er, no.

“To be honest, how I could describe it now is that he has little knowledge and that is very dangerous.”

Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield burst into laughter following Kaleb’s blunt statement and they feared Jeremy has “gotten worse” at farming.

He admitted it was “strange” to be nominated for an award and revealed he might not be attending the ceremony in Wembley, London.

“I am surprisingly braving it and taking the trip for the experience, but I a slightly nervous and might back out at the last minute,” he added.

Clarkson’s Farm has been nominated in the Factual Entertainment category, with Kaleb nominated in the Expert category.

He’s listed in the category alongside the likes of Sir David Attenborough, Gordon Ramsay and Lord Alan Sugar.

Kaleb went on to explain how dangerous farming is for an occupation as he reflected on his job.

“There are so many things on a farm which can hurt you or even kill you,” he explained.

He said tractors used to be extremely dangerous, but they are now becoming safer thanks to technological advancements.

The unexpected star also highlighted the release of his first-ever book, titled The World According to Kaleb, which is the first book he has ever read.

This Morning continues on weekdays from 10am on ITV.
