It’s difficult to fathom that there was a time when the first John Wick film could have been a straight-to-DVD film with the title “Scorn,” the type of movie that could have completely disappeared under the wrong circumstances.
Instead, John Wick upped the ante for what modern Hollywood action movies could be, and each sequel that’s followed has tried to keep raising that bar. That legacy might make you wonder if John Wick: Chapter 4 has any place to go, any new heights to reach that the previous three didn’t already explore.
