Judd Trump has responded to Kyren Wilson’s angry rant about missing out on the main table by telling him to win a world title and earn it.
A frustrated Wilson claimed on Sunday that snooker bosses are black-balling him from the main TV table – despite being ranked at no.5 in the world.
‘The Warrior’ spoke out after beating Thailand’s Noppon Saengkham 4-0 at the English Open in Milton Keynes, a match confined to table two as the lower-ranked world no.10 Ding Junhui took the main billing.
But defending champion Trump, who beat Matt Selt in his first-round match, showed no sympathy.
Wilson had ranted: “You have seen it there today, I am the higher-ranked player and I am on table two. I don’t know what’s going on there but it would be nice to have my fair share.
“It’s getting boring seeing the same faces every single session, and I might have to play naked to get on the main table!
“At some point these guys are going to retire, they won’t be where they are now.
“So maybe they should be giving me and others a bit of help to get our faces out there more and get new characters in the game. You won’t get that this way. So that’s a bit of a gripe.”
The 32-year-old Trump, who played on the main table later in the day, has often clashed verbally with the equally ambitious Wilson.
He said: “I don’t really have too much sympathy. Look, I was in that same situation as Kyren for about eight or nine years until I was world champion and winning lots of events.
“I was doing exactly what he was doing, and felt I was hard done by with Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Selby, Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui on table one.

“I was on table three out the back – but you have to earn it, You’ve got to win the World Championship, be world No.1 and be up there.
“So unless Kyren wins the big events, then he is probably not going to be there.”
The morning start meant the match involving Asian superstar Ding would be shown at prime time in his home country, leading to the preference over Wilson.
World Snooker Tour confirmed that a player’s ranking does have a big bearing on which table they are put on for any given session.
However the governing body also stressed other factors can come into play – including commercial considerations.
