Jurrien Timber is set to undergo an Arsenal medical after a £40million fee was agreed with Ajax, talkSPORT understands.
Mikel Arteta has been desperate to bolster his back line and looks set to land his top target in Timber.
Talks have progressed quickly over the past couple of weeks and a fee has now been agreed with Ajax.
The Dutch club have accepted a fee of £40m, plus add-ons, for Timber from Arsenal.
It means the defender could become the second signing at the club this summer.
The Gunners have already confirmed the arrival of Kai Havertz from Chelsea and are also closing in on Declan Rice from West Ham.
