Kiko Martinez stunned Kid Galahad with a brutal knockout to rip away the Brit’s featherweight world title.

Martinez was a huge underdog as he looked to become a two-weight champion at the age of 35.

And he was dominated for the opening four rounds as Galahad controlled the bout.

But the Spaniard dropped the champion in the final seconds of the fourth round – and then knocked him out at the start of the fifth.

Galahad was given medical attention before being led from the ring before the result was officially announced.

Martinez was no stranger to British fight fans having been beaten by Scott Quigg, Josh Warrington and Zelfa Barrett.

He also lost twice to Carl Frampton and was considered a soft-touch defence for Galahad.

“It may be a surprise for everyone else but not me,” said Martinez. “For the lat three years I’ve lived like a monk; no holidays, no time off and no time with my family.

“I’ve been prepared for this and worked really hard for three years. I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been , better than when I was 20 years of age.”
