Kim Kardashian pulled a Kendall Jenner at Stephanie Shepherd’s wedding

To her close friend and business partner Stephanie Shepherd’s wedding, Kim Kardashian opted for a sexy black dress that immediately gave us flashbacks to the time two years ago when her sister Kendall Jenner pulled a similar move and set off a debate about appropriate wedding attire. The rules of style haven’t changed that much in the intervening years, but I’d like to think we’ve all come to accept the fact that for celebrities things are just different, right?

Kim’s Alaïa ensemble — which you can see here — is somewhat bondage-inspired, with black leather clasps holding the skirt together, and strappy sandals tied tight. And it actually doesn’t look too dissimilar from the one Kendall got “in trouble” for before the bride in question, Lauren Perez, jumped in to defend her, writing on Instagram, “SHE LOOKED STUNNING AND I LOVED IT!”

Kendall later added that she “obvi asked” bride Lauren “for approval in advance too.” We’d imagine Kim also got the okay from Steph as well before choosing this outfit.

And also, can we just note, clearly, if you invite a member of one of the most famous families to your wedding, you are okay with them getting a certain amount of attention? Yes, the day should be all about the couple, but it’s not like Kim could throw on a more modest dress and people wouldn’t still notice that… she’s Kim Kardashian. And it’s not like she was even the only celeb there! Per Page Six, other guests included Justin and Hailey Bieber, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, Naomi Campbell, and Timbaland.

Oh, and bride Stephanie married some record producer named Larry Jackson and the wedding was in Beverly Hills. This story is totally about the bride and groom! Yeah!
