Lizzo Basically Has Two Haircuts in One Right Now

I could go on and on about how much I adore all of Lizzo‘s Special tour looks — and really all her beauty moments in general – but her most recent hairstyle is striking, funky, and a bit confusing at the same time. In her latest Instagram post, the “About Damn Time” singer experimented with hair color and length for a neon-green-highlighted style that looks like two different haircuts in one.

This look was clearly all about color, including her neon highlights, orange eye makeup, and bright teal ensemble. This wasn’t a tour-specific beauty moment, although it easily could have been. Instead, the singer-songwriter used her Instagram post on May 21 to promote some new clothing from her Yitty line. She looked stunning in a bright teal bodycon dress with extreme cutouts and matching undergarments (I need details on how I can get my hands on this three-piece situation immediately.)

Of course, her go-to hairstylist Shelby Swain was the mastermind behind this look. She parted the straight hair down the middle, giving us a full view of how drastic this cut is. The longest pieces of hair cascaded well below Lizzo’s waist. The shorter blunt pieces in the front, however, stopped right at her chin area, a length that would make a gorgeous bob. Somehow this look feels both modern and like a throwback to edgy ’90s haircuts that had drastically different and varying lengths.
