Core events will go ahead as planned, but London Fashion Week’s organising body said other activities such as store opening or parties should be cancelled.

The BFC will “join the nation in mourning and follow Royal Protocol” in the event of Her Majesty the Queen’s death, the BFC said in a statement emailed to BoF.

Buckingham Palace said on Thursday that the Queen is under medical supervision due to concerns for her health. Senior members of the royal family have gathered at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, where she is currently staying.

In the event of the Queen’s death, her funeral would likely take place 10 days later. Any shows falling on this date should be rescheduled, the BFC said.
