Paris Saint Germain are preparing an offer of up to £128million for Napoli ace Victor Osimhen, according to the Italian press.

The French giants have identified the 24-year-old as their ‘main target’ up front and intend to propose an initial £102m-£107m plus add-ons.

It comes in spite of Napoli owner and chairman Aurelio de Laurentiis recently saying that the Italian champions had verbally agreed two-year a contract extension and they are set to meet his agent for discussions. His current deal expires in 2025.

Offers for Osimhen ‘will arrive very soon’ amid interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, as per Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedulla

Since joining from Lille for £74m three years ago, Osimhen has scored 59 goals in 101 games for Gli Azzurri and built a reputation as one of Europe’s deadliest strikers.

And his blistering form this season, seeing him rack up 31 goals in all competitions, has made him one of the most wanted men in ther transfer market.

The Nigerian stands out for his finishing ability, movement, and pace.

Pairing his football intelligence with athletic gifts, he set the record for a Serie A jump earlier in the season at 2.58 metres, beating Ronaldo’s previous record.

Even when he’s not scoring, Napoli’s star man is able to cause chaos with his runs and playmaking, as he did in their 4-1 evisceration of Liverpool in September.

His fine form was the driving force that led the club to their first Serie A title since 1990 and the Champions League quarter-finals.

PSG could be bereft of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar by the end of the summer and will be desperate to ensure they have a competitive strikeforce after another disappointing year in the Champions League, where they crashed out o Bayern Munich in the last 16.

A big-money signing would, however, fly in the face of PSG’s stated aim to transition to a model prioritising home-grown talent and French players.

Napoli have already identified Jonathan David, again of Lille, as a potential replacement – and he has also, incidentally, been outlined as a target for Man United and Chelsea.

The 23-year-old Canadian has bagged 26 goals this campaign.
