Manchester United hero Gary Neville has smugly admitted that he was right all along about axed Tottenham boss Antonio Conte.
The Italian was linked to the United hotseat after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking, but Neville insisted at the time that he would only ‘stink the place out’.
“Conte was always going to do very well at Spurs, achieve what they wanted, and then stink the place out at the end,” Neville told Sky Sports this week. “That’s why I didn’t want him at United because he has a track record of doing it.
“The dressing room got tired of the Conte way, Conte got tired of the players, it was a mess at the end that is an inevitable ending.”
