Emma Thompson has transformed into villainous Miss. Trunchbull for Matilda The Musical – and we cannot wait to relive our childhood!

Our excitement reached fever-pitch as Netflix dropped the trailer for its film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic book (not to be confused with the 1996 film starring Mara Wilson).

And while the trailer looked fun with its all-singing, all-dancing cast of children, including the titular character Matilda herself, we were abruptly reminded of Miss Trunchbull’s child-hating ways, thanks to Emma Thompson (AKA our national treasure).
