McDonald’s ditches McCafé Bakery items, fans revolt: ‘I’m so sad’

Goodbye, my lover — goodbye, my friend.

McDonald’s is discontinuing its line of McCafé Bakery pastry items, The Post can confirm — and it’s all happening faster than you can say, “I’m Lovin’ It.”

The three sweet treats in the line that will be no more include the apple fritter, frosted cinnamon roll and blueberry muffin.

“We’re always listening to our fans and adjusting our menu based on what they crave,” McDonald’s USA told The Post in a statement on Monday. “Starting this month, we’ll be phasing out our McCafé Bakery line-up, including the Apple Fritter, Blueberry Muffin and Cinnamon Roll.

“We know goodbyes are never easy – but fans can still satisfy their sweet tooth with our iconic Chocolate Chip Cookies, Baked Apple Pie and frozen desserts at restaurants nationwide,” the message continued.

The bakery items first launched nationwide in 2020 in an effort to bring in more customers for breakfast, per CNBC, but were made available all day.

The cinnamon roll was even a favorite with reality celebrity Kylie Jenner, as she ordered the delicious delicacy in a March 2021 Instagram Story, which showed her rating different items from the fast-food restaurant, according to E! News.

She rated the cinnamon roll a nine out of 10.

The rumor first started on food blogger @markie_devo’s Instagram page, where they claimed items would be discontinued by July 15, according to “Today.”

In the comments section, some McDonald’s fans seemed to be distraught by the thought of being unable to order one of the breakfast pastries anymore.

“The cinnamon roll LITERALLY just became my pregnancy craving,” one user typed. “Mcdonald’s is DONE.”

Another agreed, writing, “Dang I did like their cinnamon rolls when I’m craving breakfast food after 10:30a.”

“I’m so sad ???? loved the blueberry muffin,” someone remarked

“I love the Apple fritter ????,” another commenter wrote, while someone weighed in that the pastry item “actually slapped.”

However, a few were happy to see the menu items go.

“Good they were boring,” one Instagram user wrote.

Another posited that the discontinued treats could be because they were bringing an old menu item back.

“Hopeful it’s making room for bagel breakfast sandwiches nationwide,” they alleged.

However, if you’re taking a trip overseas, you may still be able to get some sort of tasty pastries — a mixed berry muffin and sugar donut are on the menu at McDonald’s in the United Kingdom, as well as a selection of hot cross buns in Australia.

So, you better get your last apple fritter while you still can.

But it’s not all bad news here: Last month, McDonald’s announced that it was bringing back its Oreo Frappé for a limited time this spring and summer.

The drink was discontinued in 2015 and clocked in at an impressive 460 calories for a small cup.
