Michigan State and Ohio State will be two of the teams facing off in Big Ten action on Sunday afternoon.
The Buckeyes have been a disappointing team this season, sitting at just 3-10 in Big Ten play.
Despite that, they’re small favorites at home over the Spartans.
Let’s take a look at the odds for the game and then I’ll give you my best bet.
Michigan State vs. Ohio State odds, spread, and total
Michigan State vs. Ohio State prediction and pick
Ohio State’s record hasn’t been good, but just as the odds indicate the Buckeyes are better than what meets the eye. For example, Ohio State ranks 111th in effective field goal percentage, which is way above the Spartans who come in at 207th.
Ohio State also does a great job of not turning the ball over, ranking 43rd in turnovers per possession.
The Buckeyes also thrive in creating extra scoring chances. Ohio State ranks 85th in extra scoring chances per game, coming in at +2.1. Michigan State ranks 272nd in that category at -2.0. A big factor for that is Ohio State’s ability to grab offensive boards, coming in at 37th in offensive rebounding rate.
Ohio State is the favorite in this game for a reason, so I’ll gladly lay the points on the Buckeyes.
