Millions of drivers risk huge fines with ‘very high’ pollen count

Having between six and eight points on their driving licence may increase premiums by up to 62 percent on average.

According to Vanarama, 14 percent of drivers admit hay fever symptoms, like itchy eyes and sneezing affect their driving ability.

Worryingly, a further eight percent admitted that when taking allergy tablets, they have become drowsy while behind the wheel.

GOV.UK states that taking legal drugs which affect driving ability can lead to a motorist being convicted.
