Moyes says ‘flaky’ West Ham has returned and sends message to misfiring players

David Moyes says West Ham’s draw to Aston Villa reminded him of the ‘flaky’ side that he saw before he took charge of the club.

The Hammers’ home clash against Aston Villa finished 1-1, with Moyes’ side securing a point after going a goal down.

It’s a result that has taken them out of the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference, however, the east London side are struggling to find a run of form as they look to ensure survival for next season.

On his side’s inconsistency, Moyes said: “I think our home form is beginning to do a little bit better.

“A draw today is not the best, we drew with Chelsea a few weeks ago as well but in between we’ve beaten Nottingham Forest and Everton, so our four home games here have been sort of positive in the main.

“But yeah, consistency is a big thing. I said long, long ago before I first joined West Ham, if there was one thing that people sort of thought about West Ham was, they used to use the word ‘flaky’.

“At the moment, I have to say we’re a bit flaky, and I have to make sure that that’s not there.

“For the last two-and-a-half years we’ve not been that way, but this season we have shown bits of that which I don’t like.
