The three-year-old boy who was hit by a car outside a Perth apartment complex has woken from his induced coma.

Around 3.45pm on Sunday, Fynn Salter was drawing on his driveway in Innaloo when he was hit by a car.

Fynn was rushed in an ambulance to Perth Children’s Hospital and placed into an induced coma, suffering from head trauma and skull fractures.

His mother Amy took to social media to share an update that Fynn had woken up.

“We are still assessing the recovery path ahead,” she wrote on Facebook.

“For now, Fynn is slowly coming out of induced coma and breathing on his own.

“Thank you for everyone’s support.”

The 29-year-old single mother watched on in horror as the accident unfolded over the weekend, unable to get to her son in time.

A GoFundMe started by family friend Jimi Trengove has already raised $13,000 of its $30,000 goal to help cover Fynn’s medical costs.

“I ask of all my friends, family and business to dig deep to assist in raising as much money as we can to help this small family in this extremely heartbreaking and difficult time,” Mr Trengrove said.

The 31-year-old male driver is assisting police with inquiries.

Major cash investigators are appealing for anyone who saw the crash, or the Mitsubishi Outlander travelling in the area prior to the crash, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at crimestopperswa.com.au.
