‘Mumbai ya Trinidad’: Rohit Sharma’s hilarious tweet after rain plays spoilsport in 2nd Test | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The rain denying India a chance of a 2-0 series whitewash against the West Indies seemed to have frustrated India skipper Rohit Sharma after the fifth and final day’s play of the second Test in Trinidad was washed out without a single ball being bowled, resulting in a draw.

Rohit took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to share an image of him along with teammates in which the rain showers were visible. He hilariously captioned the post ‘Mumbai ya Trinidad’ with the emoticons of thinking face and cloud with rain.

Rohit apparently drew the comparisons between the weather in the Caribbean islands and his home city Mumbai.
India won the first Test by an innings and 141 runs in Dominica and looked well on course for victory after setting West Indies a 365-run target and then reducing them to 76-2 on Sunday.
Rohit said his team remained optimistic as the hosts were required to bat last on a pitch which though hardly had any demons.
“Every win is different. Playing in West Indies has its own challenge. Happy with the way things went. We gave it a good shot, unfortunately we couldn’t get any play today. We actually went out with a positive intent yesterday.
“Rain had its final say. We were quite confident. You know how difficult it is batting last. We always wanted that kind of score where we wanted the opposition to go for it. There wasn’t much on the surface. No play today, unfortunate for us.”
