LeBron James made headlines last month when he said he has to think about whether he wants to continue playing in the NBA. In fact, it overshadowed the fact that James and the Lakers got swept by the Nuggets in the Western Conference finals.

In an effort to return the favor, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone trolled James after winning the NBA Finals.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Malone jokingly said he’s thinking about retiring.

“Well, a really good question, and speaking of the Lakers: I just want you guys to know, this is breaking news, I’m thinking about retiring, so don’t tell anybody,” Malone said

Well played.

Malone will probably receive some pushback from Lakers fans for this comment.

With the Nuggets’ championship parade set to take place this Thursday, it wouldn’t surprise us if Malone takes one last shot at the Lakers. After all, he clearly has beef with them.
