New This Summer: The Motto Hotel Is Making Its Grand Debut In Manhattan’s Time Square

From the sparkling shores of Malibu to the depths of the Everglades, the United States is packed full of fascinating attractions—yet one of the busiest tourist sites on the entire planet can be found in the very heart of Manhattan Island. Famed worldwide for its dazzling ad displays and annual New Year’s Eve ball drop, Times Square draws roughly 50 million visitors each year. This massive congregation of travelers has given rise to a particularly high-end hotel scene in the surrounding area—and in just a few months, the neighborhood is welcoming a brand-new addition in the form of the Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square.

Debuting in August 2023, this polished property will tower above 48th Street, offering 400 rooms for guests to enjoy. Upon arrival, visitors will step into a space that exemplifies the timeless beauty of the city, adorned with creative contemporary art that portrays the aesthetic of 1920s New York with a modern flair. And while each room is equipped with high-end amenities for guests to take advantage of, The Alderman is set to become one of the property’s top hangout spots, offering a wealth of classic American dishes and cocktails in a vintage NYC diner-inspired space.

While the property will be the first Motto to grace the streets of Times Square, the hotel is set to become the sixth member of the overall Motto portfolio, with sister properties scattered all across the globe. For visitors to the national capital, the Motto Washington DC comes complete with its own rooftop dining venue and on-property whiskey bar, while the Motto Rotterdam Blaak offers cozy rooms and a polished seafood-focused restaurant in the heart of one of Holland’s most vibrant cities—and in the near future, the options are set to expand far beyond the reaches of just North America and Europe, with properties in Glasgow, Cusco, and Hong Kong all on the drawing board now.

For any first-time visitors to New York, there’s a massive array of attractions to discover just a few steps away from the hotel. Aside from the obvious—New York’s most famous collection of ads—guests can also explore some of the city’s most prestigious institutions, with The Museum of Modern Art and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum located within walking distance. For cocktail aficionados, The Rum House is a top-tier destination, with regular live jazz performances and a wealth of rum cocktails up for grabs. And of course, the iconic Central Park is just a few blocks north of the hotel, offering 341 hectares of carefully-manicured green space that’s home to jogging paths, iconic museums, and a world-class city zoo.

Times Square has been drawing tourists from across the globe for well over a century, and with New York’s drinking, dining, and hospitality scene returning to its former glory after a lengthy hiatus, this dazzling district is certain to keep going for years to come—and with properties like the Motto Times Square on the way, it’s safe to say that the neighborhood’s hospitality scene is getting better with each passing year.
