Nathan Thomas Hentley was arrested on suspicion of oral copulation with a minor under 16-year-old, statutory rape, committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor and contacting a minor to commit a felony. The Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office has not received a report on Hentley, and charges have not been filed.

Hentley, who was a volunteer coach this year and a walk-on coach last year, was dropped as a coach by Eureka City Schools after his arrest and no longer has volunteer status with the district.

“There is an ongoing investigation with the Fortuna Police Department and, at this time, there is no indication of any ECS students being involved,” a release from Eureka City Schools said. “ECS is in communication with Fortuna Police Department, as student safety is the District’s top priority.”
