37 out of the 46 deliveries bowled in the spell which lasted for 7.4 overs were dots. He bowled beautifully throughout but failed to take a single wicket on the first 40 deliveries. However, he made up for it by picking three wickets on the last six deliveries to clean Sri Lanka’s tail and bundle them out for 188.

Naseem finished the innings with 3/44 in 17.4 overs. The second wicket was his 50th in Test cricket. In the first innings, he picked three wickets for 41 runs to help Sri Lanka bundle out the hosts for 166 runs only.

Fans also called Naseem the ‘unluckiest’ bowler after three back-to-back review calls went up against him.

On the second ball of the 62nd over, umpire Pakistan unsuccessfully reviewed a lbw decision from the on-field umpire. Ramesh Mendis was hit on the very next delivery on the pads once again and the umpire too raised his fingers but a review saved the batter once again. A third consecutive appeal saw Mendis survive once again after taking another review.

Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan declared their innings at 576/5 to get a 410-run lead. But the Sri Lanka innings collapsed once again. Left-arm spinner Noman picked the first seven wickets to finish with figures of 7/70 in 23 overs in the second innings. The win has helped Pakistan seal the series 2-0.
