People on TikTok are losing their minds over this dessert of avocado, ice and condensed milk

Honestly, how did we find out any information before TikTok? We literally use it to get most of our skincare, makeup and beauty tips, uncover the real truth about ourselves and our relationships via therapists and psychologists on the platform and learn new orgasm-inducing sex positions and slumber-inducing sleep hacks. In short, TikTok is the modern gal’s bible, and we’re not sorry about it.

One side of the video sharing platform that gets a little less airtime on GLAMOUR, is FoodTok, but the app’s archive of easy-to-make recipes and odd, but amazing, snack ideas (hello, sriracha on pickled garlic), means that we’re now more likely to check it ahead of hosting a dinner party than any recipe book on our shelves.

And the latest food craze to kick off in a big way? Well, it’s a dessert of avocado, ice and condensed milk – and people are losing their minds over it. Though the mixture is actually a well-known, and much-loved, dessert in the Philippines, it’s not one we’ve seen gracing many menus in the UK and so we were super intrigued when Anna Paul first posted about it.

“I’m trying a Phillipino dessert dessert,” she tells her followers in the no viral video. “Which is avocado, ice and condensed milk… and it’s a dessert, and you eat it all together.”

She then shows herself cutting and peeling the avocado and mixing it together with ice cubes in a bowl before pouring over a tin of condensed milk and trying a big spoonful: “Omg,” she responds, throwing a double thumbs up to camera. “This is delicious… you have to try this.”

The video has now been watched over three million times, received almost two million likes and had thousands of comments from people who have either tried the dessert before themselves and love it, or people who are ready to give it a go themselves.

“Filipino here ????????‍♀️I eat it with crushed ice, milk/condense milk and sugar and I remember drinking it when I was little lol,” wrote one user, while another commented: “OMG why am I only just seeing this? It’s basically a sweet, deconstructed smoothie and I am here for it!”

Unsurprisingly, it hasn’t taken long for other TikTok foodies to jump on the bandwagon and try the dessert for themselves, and every single one we’ve seen so far has been an instant convert.

User Jack Cooper (@jackcoopxr) uploaded his own video trying the combo, “if Anna Paul’s eating something then that means that I’ve gotta eat it,” he tells the camera, as he preps the ingredients.

Filling his mouth with the concoction, he makes approving noises as he chews, before telling the camera: “OMG, it’s so good, what the hell?”

Going in for a second spoonful he says: “I can’t even lie, I thought I was going to hate this… but I don’t!”

And, just like Anna, the comments under the video were flooded with people who were also pretty taken with the sweet combo. “IT’S REALLY GOOD THOUGHHHHHH,” said one, while another advised that Jack use “crushed ice” next time.

In fact, the online community is so mesmerised by the dessert, that if you type ‘Anna Paul’ into the TikTok search bar, it suggests ‘Anna Paul avocado dessert’.

Not convinced yet? Here are a whole host of videos that basically prove you need to run, not walk, to the supermarket right now and pick up a tin of condensed milk and an avocado.
