Perth’s LAST-MINUTE NYE celebrations

There’s a collective feeling going around that New Year’s Eve seems to have snuck up on people this year.

You may have crawled to the finish line of work before the holiday break and barely made it through Christmas with your sanity intact.

Then, suddenly, you realise you don’t have special plans to see out the final evening of 2022.

Luckily, there are plenty of events with last-minute bookings and tickets still available, along with parties welcoming walk-ins, so you don’t have to miss out on celebrating the year that was.

For the first time the CBD will be hosting two sets of fireworks, the first at the family friendly time of 9pm at Elizabeth Quay, before a midnight show in Northbridge.

Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said Elizabeth Quay was the perfect spot for the young and young at heart to see in the new year, with a fun fair, plenty of entertainment and food from 5pm. The Christmas Lights Trail will also be open to explore.

“For those wanting to party into the night, the fun fair will continue through until midnight. Northbridge too, will have its own fireworks at midnight,” Mr Zempilas said.

“We encourage everyone to head into the City, grab a bite to eat, enjoy the entertainment and marvel at the spectacular fireworks displays as we live up to our name as the City of Light.”

Opening their doors for free entry are Northbridge jungle oasis Henry Summer, which will have DJs pumping tunes for multiple dance floors, and hidden disco haven Toots, which is throwing a Boogie Nights-inspired bash sprinkled with confetti.

Also in central Perth, with no cover charge, Irish pub Johnny Fox’s will feature live music, small bar Caballitos has a glow-in-the-dark theme and the Birdbath pop-up will draw colourful characters to the Cultural Centre.
