Peter Pan & Wendy Trailer Reveals the Disney+ Live Action Remake

Peter Pan & Wendy stars Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson as the titular duo alongside Jude Law as Captain Hook.

This year, return to Neverland in the latest Disney live action remake, Peter Pan & Wendy, for which the first trailer has finally been unveiled. Released courtesy of Walt Disney Studios, the footage reveals not only the likes of Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling, and Jude Law as Captain Hook, but also a Disney+ release date, with Peter Pan & Wendy all set to land on the streaming service in April. Peter Pan & Wendy is a live-action reimagining of the J.M. Barrie novel and the 1953 animated classic. Directed by David Lowery (The Green Knight, Pete’s Dragon), Peter Pan & Wendy promises to tell the timeless adventure and introduce the beloved characters like never before.

Much like the tale on which it’s based, Peter Pan & Wendy introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind, who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever.

While many of the beats and surroundings remain familiar, with Lowery crafting a Neverland realized with a grounded sense of reality and natural environments inhabited by fantastical beings such as mermaids and fairies, Wendy’s role in the story looks to have changed. Taking a more proactive role in the story, and partaking in sword-fighting herself, Peter Pan & Wendy looks to be living up to its title and giving Wendy as much of the spotlight as the literary hero.

Jude Law is Captain Hook in Peter Pan & Wendy

As well as offering our first look at this latest iteration of Neverland, Peter, Wendy, and The Lost Boys (and girls), the trailer also reveals Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore star Jude Law as the infamous Captain Hook. Looking very different to anything we’ve seen from the actor before and sporting the red coat and hook-for-a-hand, Law could quite easily end up stealing the show.

Peter Pan & Wendy is led by Alexander Molony (The Reluctant Landlord), Ever Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Black Widow) as Peter Pan and Wendy Darling, the rest of the cast includes Yara Shahidi (Grown-ish) as Tinker Bell, Jude Law (Captain Marvel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) as Captain Hook, Alyssa Wapanatâhk as Tiger Lily, Joshua Pickering (A Discovery of Witches) as John Darling, Jacobi Jupe as Michael Darling, Molly Parker (House of Cards) as Mary Darling, Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as George Darling, and Jim Gaffigan (The Jim Gaffigan Show) as Mr. Smee.

Directed by David Lowery from a screenplay by David Lowery & Toby Halbrooks (The Green Knight) and based on the novel by J. M. Barrie and the animated film “Peter Pan,” Peter Pan & Wendy is set to premiere on Disney+ on April 28, 2023.
