A Denver police officer was seriously injured when he was struck by a firetruck during the Nuggets’ NBA championship parade on Thursday.
The officer was hit near the end of the parade route at the intersection of West 13th Avenue and Cherokee Street, per the Denver PD.
The injured officer was taken to the hospital with a “serious” leg injury and an investigation into the crash was opened up.

According to the most recent update from the Denver PD, there is a fear that the unnamed officer could lose his leg due to the injuries he suffered.

Nuggets stars Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were riding on the truck when it hit the officer.
In an earlier video taken from the crowd, you can see Jokic and Murray getting off the vehicle with the Larry O’Brien Trophy after the accident happened.
