Post Malone Provides Update After Bruising Ribs in Onstage Mishap

Post Malone spoke out earlier today after bruising his ribs from a fall through a trap door onstage during his performance in St. Louis on Saturday.

“Whenever we do the acoustic part of the show, the guitars on the guitar stand…it goes down, and there’s this big ass hole, so I go around there and I turn the corner and bust my ass,” Malone explained. “Winded me pretty good. Got me pretty good. We just got back from the hospital and everything’s good. Everything’s good. They gave me some pain meds and everything and we can keep kicking ass on the tour.”

Footage taken from someone in attendance shows Post was performing “Circles” when he took a hard fall and started writhing in pain before being surrounded by security personnel.

His manager Dre London took to Instagram to shut down rumors that Malone sustained three broken ribs, asserting he was diagnosed with bruised ribs at the hospital.

Concertgoer Tana Cantrell told CNN that Malone was helped up after about 10 minutes and escorted backstage. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Post asked the crowd to give him three to four minutes before returning 15 minutes later to perform five more songs, even though he was visibly in pain.

Post continuously apologized during the remainder of his abbreviated set, and stuck around for a bit afterwards to sign a few autographs.

He’s scheduled to perform Sunday night in Columbus, Ohio.
