Ranbir Kapoor is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Brahmastra with Alia Bhatt. Ranbir plays the role of Shiva and Alia will be seen as Isha in the film. Ranbir Kapoor was last seen as Shamshera and Balli in Shamshera. Shamshera also starred Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. The film tanked at the box office. During a recent media interaction, Ranbir Kapoor opened up about Shamshera’s box office failure.

Ranbir Kapoor said, “If Shamshera didn’t run at the box office it means the audience didn’t like the film. The film didn’t work because the content wasn’t good.”

Earlier, Ranbir’s co-star Sanjay Dutt had shared a note on Instagram as Shamshera failed to do well. A part of his note reads, “It’s a movie made up of blood, sweat, and tears. It’s a dream that we brought on screen. Movies are made for audience to relish. And every movie finds its viewers, sooner or later. Shamshera found a lot of people hating on it; some of the hate came from people who didn’t even watch it. I find it horrible that people don’t respect the hard work we all put in.”

Shamshera was released on 22 July, 2022.

Talking about Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, apart from Ranbir and Alia, it also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra is slated to release on 9th September. Fans are beyond excite as Shah Rukh Khan has a cameo in the film.

Apart from this, Ranbir Kapoor also has Animal and Luv Ranjan’s next.
