Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC New Hotfix Improves Ray Tracing, Texture Filtering

The first Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC hotfix is now live, introducing some small but welcome improvements.

The v1.727.0.0 hotfix resolves visual issues with characters occurring on certain GPUs, including AMD Vega-based models, improves the visual quality of vegetation with ray-traced shadows and ray-traced reflections, and fixes Texture Filtering so that will work as intended from now on.

The new Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC hotfix is a step in the right direction, but there’s still some work to be done for the port of the former PlayStation 5 exclusive to be in the best possible state. As highlighted by Digital Foundry earlier this week, the game suffers from a selection of issues that suggest how the port needed more work before release. In addition, AMD users are not able to enjoy the game with ray tracing on due to a driver issue that has yet to be solved.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is now available on PC and PlayStation 5 worldwide. You can learn more about the game by checking out Chris’ review.

Through outstanding storytelling, exquisite visuals, and gripping gameplay, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart proves to be an engaging, fun, funny, and thoroughly enjoyable return to the series. It also offers the introduction to two brand new characters that could arguably be the protagonists of their own spin-off, or at least return to future entries in the series. For fans and new players alike, this is a game I would recommend for everybody and a true showing of the sort of titles we should expect for the new generation.
