Gaming peripheral brand Razer has announced something that, in hindsight, is a bit surprising that the company didn’t announce sooner – skins. These are for a small range of consoles, laptops as well as mobile controllers. Naturally, expect that some of the company’s own products are in the list.
Starting off with the consoles, Razer has skins for the PS5 standard and digital editions, as well as the Xbox Series X and S, with the Steam Deck being a surprise inclusion in this category. As for laptops, as you’d expect the models that run Windows are the many variations of the brand’s own Blade range, while macOS models include the MacBook Air 13, as well as the MacBook Pro 13, 14 and 16. For the mobile controllers, the skins are only available for the Razer Edge and Kishi V2.
As for what the skins themselves actually are, Razer says on its FAQ that these are 3M adhesive cast vinyl that measure between 0.051 mm and 0.089 depending on the pattern. The brand says that these are easy to apply and remove, and won’t leave any residue behind, which is a bold claim for any adhesive. They are water resistant, and will also last between five to seven years.

For their prices, these Razer skins can range anywhere from US$19.99 (~RM93) to US$59.99 (~RM281), depending on the device and amount of coverage. That being said, according to the official FAQ, these are only available in the US for now. The silver lining is, the company says to “tag us on social media, tell us where you want Razer Skins, and maybe we’ll begin to think about considering the possibility of perhaps shipping elsewhere”. We’ve reached out to a company representative, who told us that so far, there are no plans to bring them to our shores yet. So if you like what you see, you know what to do.
