MANILA, Philippines—After five years in the PBA, Robert Bolick has decided to take his act to Japan with Division 2 team  Fukushima Firebonds.

The B.League on Monday announced that the Northport guard signed with the Firebonds after not renewing a contract with the Batang Pier.

“I am very grateful and blessed to be a part of Fukushima Firebonds,” said Bolick in a statement. “I’m truly honored to represent this team and showcase my skills and talent to achieve greater heights together with this new family. Can’t wait to play in front of you all, soon!”

The 27-year-old guard was drafted as the third overall pick by the Batang Pier in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft but only played a total of eight conferences in the PBA throughout his five-year stay.

In his last conference in the Governors’ Cup, Bolick averaged 21.6 points. 5.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.0 steals per game but NorthPort failed to make the playoffs with a 3-8 record.

Bolick and the Batang Pier only reached the playoffs five times with only one semifinal appearance.

The 6-foot-2 guard out of San Beda will beef up Fukushima, which missed the B2 playoffs with a 28-32 record in the previous season.

Bolick became the latest PBA player to move to Japan, joining Kiefer Ravena, Ray Parks Jr., Matthew Wright, Greg Slaughter, and Roosevelt Adams.
