For the 2023-24 season, the Houston Rockets will have new City Edition jerseys and a custom court at Toyota Center, which will be used for home games in the NBA’s new in-season tournament.
The splashy court, which is largely red with a blue stripe down the middle, features the unique “H-Town” font and branding that will also accompany this season’s City Edition uniforms.
After two years of wearing pinstriped blue City Edition uniform sets — in homage to the mid-to-late 1990s era of the Rockets — this year’s set is primarily white and red and appears to be in tribute to the “Phi Slama Jama” era at the University of Houston.
That era was defined by a pair of future Rockets and eventual Hall of Famers in Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler. Tilman Fertitta, who now owns the Rockets, has extensive ties to the school, as well.
As of Monday, Oct. 30, here’s a look what we’ve learned to date of the franchise’s new 2023-24 court and threads.
Good that they went with H-Town for the center of the court. The blue works well with the trophies. Could not use the old mustard color with gold trophies. And it is not a shade of blue that the NFL thinks it owns. https://t.co/URbyqZ11eI

The in-season tournament will include new, special courts for all 30 teams — revealed exclusively here. These are unlike almost anything you’ve seen in the NBA: https://t.co/dZ8VTpDekw
