Ronda Rousey to end WWE run and return to UFC?

It was furthered by the comments from UFC bantamweight Chelsea Chandler. During an interview with MMA Junkie, the active UFC fighter said that she’s heard Rousey is returning home to her roots at the UFC.

It was also informed by Chelsea in her comments that the first-ever UFC Hall of Famer will return as a Featherweight (145 lbs) fighter, and not as a Bantamweight (135 lbs) in the near future.

“It has been a long time for her, and things change, people get better, and I think people are on to her one-trick-pony Armbar. Money talks, and she would bring eyes to the sport again.”

With Ronda’s WWE tenure in question for some time and the active contract shortly coming to an end, people certainly thought that those words from Chelsea had base but it may not be a smart move for a 36-year-old woman to return to MMA, after all.

Echoing the same theory, veteran journalist Ariel Helwani shot down the speculations in his report via MMA Fighting, “Ronda Rousey is not considering a UFC comeback, I’m told. No truth to the rumors started yesterday.”

Keeping the huge paydays aside, one should consider the fact that Ronda Rousey hasn’t been in action inside the Octagon for almost seven years. She lost to Amanda Nunes by TKO in 48 seconds in her last match in December 2016.

Bring female eyes to the MMA spot, Ronda Rousey started her UFC career with six consecutive wins before finally picking up the UFC Bantamweight Championship. The belt was also successfully defended by her on six different occasions.

The Cinderella story of the longest streak-holder in UFC history came to an end in December 2015 when Holly Holm defeated her. A year later, the second loss to Amanda ended her illustrious MMA career as she gradually transitioned into professional wrestling.

Ronda Rousey’s career inside the squared circle is equally successful where she won the singles women’s title on three different occasions. Alongside winning the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, he’s also a one-time Women’s Tag Team Title holder.

After the betrayal by long-time friend Shayna Baszler at Money in the Bank, the assumption is that Ronda Rousey will face her at SummerSlam in what could very well be the latter’s final program in the WWE.
