A Russian man was heard yelling “papa” while a shark mauled him to death in the Hurghada resort in Egypt. Tourists on the shore were horrified as it wounded the man before hauling him under the water.
His heartbroken girlfriend managed to escape.
The tourist, 23, was in Egypt for a long stay.
Baza news outlet in Russia named the man as Vladimir Popov, who had moved to the resort along with his dad several months ago.
His father was left with no other option but to watch the horrendous attack, which was also filmed from the shore.

In the video, the man can be heard frantically shouting “Papa, Papa” as he was hunted by the monster, who had been predatorily circling him before striking.
He can be spotted despairingly attempting to swim back to shore, but seems to be attacked by the shark while still in deeper waters.
He can be seen having his body swung around in the water with his legs raised above the surface while traumatised onlookers scream for the man to swim.
They can be heard shouting: “Swim away, swim away! Quick! A shark!”
Next the splashing in the water stops before the man’s head emerges at the surface, appearing to be moving in the water, but slowly.
He can be heard shouting “Papa”, begging for assistance as the water began turning red.
The shark can next be clearly spotted at the water surface, circling around the man with its fin and tail in view.
The woman filming the awful attack can be heard petrifyingly repeating “oh my god” as it continues.
The shark next goes for another attack, darting at him before locking its jaws around him and submerging him under the water.
His head appears above the water a final time, while the shark’s body is seen wriggling under the water as it appears to eat his body before dragging it further down, MailOnline reports.
A witness said: “The shark’s eating his remains now. There she is, eating his remains.”
A second said: “Right in front of my eyes, the shark ate the guy, the girl managed to escape. He took the blow from the shark. It’s a terrible thing, the remains of this man are lying there.”
The death of the man from a shark attack was confirmed by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
An anonymous female Russian tourist said: “The rescuers reacted very quickly. I immediately felt that it was a shark.
“I immediately jumped up and started shouting: ‘Sharks! Save yourself!’.”
Another said: “The girl was saved, she screamed very much on the beach. She was so shocked, screaming. I don’t know where they took her.”
The incident reportedly took place on Dream Beach in Hurghada, and Russian tourists have been warned to stay vigilant in the popular resort and ensure they follow the instruction and prohibitions of hotel staff.
