Chris Noth, more commonly know as “Mr. Big” by Sex And The City fans, starred alongside lead Sarah Jessica Parker in the HBO series, as well as in the follow-up films of the same name, and the most-recent epilogue series, And Just Like That…, however the Carrie actor has revealed that she hasn’t spoken to her on-screen husband Chris Noth since his sexual assault allegations emerged.

The accusations came from two women, who both claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Noth, with alleged assault dates taking place more than 10 years apart. Initial reports first began to circulate after the highly-anticipated follow-up series, And Just Like That, aired in December, and Noth immediately denied the allegations, telling The Hollywood Reporter that they were “categorically false” and the encounters were consensual: “It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women,” he said.

At the time, Noth’s co-stars said they were “deeply saddened” by the allegations. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who play Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte in the hit US show. In a joint-statement, the women said: “We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”

More recently though, when asked by The Hollywood Reporter whether she has “spoken to him since [the accusations emerged],” she replied that she had not. When further asked for her reaction to the allegations, she said: “I don’t even know if I’m ready to talk about it. But I don’t think… I wasn’t reacting [to the scandal] as a producer. I should have worked on this because I’m just… it’s just…”

The sexual abuse claims, which were made shortly after the 2021 revival where Mr Big suffers from a heart attack while on a Peloton and subsequently dies, included one woman who stated that the actor “raped her from behind” in 2004 after they met during a high-profile Los Angeles event. The alleged victim, who used the name Zoe in the report, recalled Noth laughing when she asked him to wear a condom during the “painful” experience.

Another woman, given the pseudonym Lily, was 25 and working as a waitress in the VIP section of a New York nightclub when she met Noth in 2015 before, she claims, he assaulted her in his New York apartment.

Both women, according to the Reporter, say they were moved to come forward with their stories after seeing Chris Noth’s name in the news ahead of And Just Like That… airing.

At the time, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said there is no investigation into the incidents and Chris released a statement saying: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago – no always means no – that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual.”

As a result of the accusations, Noth was dropped by The Equalizer and removed from the season finale of And Just Like That.
