The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) said grant beneficiaries should expect to receive their money from the first week of July.
JULY SASSA GRANT PAYMENTS
According to the agency, the older person’s grant will be available from Monday, 4 July and it will be followed by disability grants on Tuesday. These payments include any grants linked to the beneficiaries’ accounts.
From Wednesday, 6 July, all other grants will be paid. “There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.”
As previously reported, SASSA urges social relief of distress (SRD) R350 grant beneficiaries to update their information on the website by 7 July if they want to be paid the April and May backlog funds that are outstanding.
The R350 grant was finally paid to beneficiaries in June after two months of non-payment. However, approximately five million of the 10.9 million applications received were declined.

SASSA said clients would be able to appeal their rejections via the website – https://srd.dsd.gov.za.
