The Perth Scorchers have pegged back a hot Brisbane Heat start to set up an intriguing run chase at Optus Stadium.
Former Scorcher Colin Munro and big-hitting sensation Josh Brown took to the pace and bounce of the wicket like ducks to water, taking down the Lance’ Wild Thing’ Morris in a rollicking Power Play that set up a total of 8-171.
The Heat turned up the pressure early, climbing into Matt Kelly and Morris to fly to 0-56 from five overs.
Ashton Turner took matters into his own hands as he rolled out his offies before throwing debutant Cooper Connolly into the fray.
He was taken down the ground for a six second ball but closed out well with 11 off his first.

Bancroft motored in from the boundary before hurling himself towards the ball, securing it in his mits at full stretch.
Tye grabbed two wickets and a run out in the final over as Brisbane posted 8-171.
