Victor Wembanyama, the top pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, entered the league as the most hyped prospect since LeBron James.
James surpassed the expectations, becoming arguably the greatest basketball player ever. It remains to be seen what the San Antonio Spurs rookie becomes as he begins his NBA career.
NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’ Neal, one of the most dominant big men in NBA history, made an interesting take earlier this month. During an interview with Sports Illustrated on Wednesday, the four-time NBA champion doubled down on his take.
“No, I’m not,” O’ Neal said when asked if he’s ready to backtrack from his previous comments. “Because if you listen to what I said, I said you guys are acting like Wemby is the first 7-foot-5 player that dribble coast to coast put it between his legs and shot a three.
“He is not. Bol Bol is the first. I never compared the two. I just said you guys act like you never seen it before.”
