Simon Cowell has been scaling back operations in recent months and America’s Got Talent: Extreme will join the list of shows or projects to be canned. The spin-off of the traditional talent show is exclusively open to contestants in the United States, but it has now been officially shelved in light of the horrific fall of Welsh daredevil Jonathan Goodwin.
The talent show judge Simon Cowell has decided to pull one of his most dangerous programme creations off of TV screens.
Fans of America’s Got Talent’s sister show will have to find their high-risk talent show drama elsewhere after Simon Cowell and his production team decided against making a new series.
Last year, during the auditions of AGT: Extreme, Jonathan Goodwin tragically fell after being suspended in a straight jacket for a stunt on the show.
He fell from around 30 feet and was paralysed following the incident.

This horrific accident prompted American network NBC to not run a new series of the show on their channel.
With Simon Cowell ending the run of X Factor and last June confirming the show will not return, there appears to be a loosening of the talent show hold he used to have.
A source revealed: “Simon was horrified. He’s now focused on other projects.”
They added: “Simon is constantly looking at ways to revamp his shows and AGT: Extreme had a number of difficulties.
“Obviously the goal is to make edge-of-your-seat TV but it has to be done as safely as possible.”
Following the incident, Jonathan remained positive in fighting back for his health.
The stuntman survived with broken shoulders and legs, a punctured lung, fractured ribs and a total spinal fracture.
Due to his severe back injury, Jonathan now uses a wheelchair, but in May he told Good Morning America how he coped six months after the fall.
Jonathan explained: “The spinal surgeon said that my injury was the worst he’d ever seen and also told me there was a really good chance I wouldn’t make it through the surgery.”
He added: “Amanda has been there for me every day since and has been and was really my motivation to get through it.”
AGT: Extreme leaving TV screens represents another move by Simon Cowell in downsizing his workload this year.
In January the label boss announced he will be heavily reducing the size of his entertainment company Syco and wind down the operations of the business.
The company owned the franchises Britain’s Got Talent and The X Factor, but Simon now wishes to spend more time with his fiancee Lauren Silvermann and child Eric.
Express.co.uk has contacted Simon’s representatives for a comment.
