Soccer Aid 2023: What has been said?

After being announced as the England manager, Stormzy was quick to lay down his demands for his players.

He said: “I’m taking this really seriously. I don’t want the players saying they loved my last album – seriously, it’s just about winning the game for me.

“I’ll put the fire in them. They need to call me ‘boss’ or ‘gaffer’, though – not Mike!

“I’ve got a really good coaching team with me and if we’re struggling with 10 minutes to go I’ll call my mate Jose [Mourinho]!”

World XI captain Usain Bolt has told talkSPORT how his association with Unicef and Soccer Aid came about.

Bolt said: “For me, it was after I retired because the thing about it was Soccer Aid was always during the season as the track season is pretty much 11 months of the year.

“So as soon as I retired I told them any time you guys are ready, I’m excited to be a part of it because I love doing charity work.

“No matter what it is, I try to be a part of it.”

Soccer Aid 2023: Help UNICEF protect play for every child

Children need play. But for millions of children around the world, war, disaster, hunger and poverty are getting in the way.

When children lose their homes, their families, and their schools, they lose out on happy, healthy, play-filled childhoods. Just when they need that safe space and moment of escape the most, it’s gone.

UNICEF helps protect children in times of violence and crisis, to make sure that every child has the chance to play. If you believe in play-filled childhoods, please donate now.
